About the Exam
The Illinois state licensing exam contains 140 multiple choice questions (100 National law, 40 State specific). In order to sit for the exam and apply for a Real Estate Broker's license, an applicant must:

Be at least 18 years old;

Have graduated from high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school degree (GED); and

Have successfully completed the required curriculum of 75 class hours of Real Estate courses at a real estate school approved by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in the following manner:

Real Estate Broker Topics (60 hours)

Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate Principles-Interactive (15 hours)
