Is there a final exam?

Yes, there are TWO final exams! All students must pass the SCHOOL final exam with a minimum score of 75% in order to receive a transcript to sit for the STATE final exam.  Upon registration, each student will be sent a Candidate Handbook that includes all of the information that the students need to register for the State of Illinois Exam.

Do I have to take the final exam at the school location?

The state requires that all exams are proctored.  However you do not need to take the exam at the school.  Most libraries will proctor an exam at no charge.  If you wish to take the internet course and you live over 25 miles from the school, please call Tami (773) 586-7000 to make testing arrangements!

Does my enrollment expire after a certain period of time?

Yes. Your enrollment expires 1 year after you register.

If I don't pass the final exam on the first try, may I take it again? If so, is there an additional charge to take the exam more than once?

Students will have three chances to pass the school exam.  Students will be given a complimentary review session before taking the exam again at no additional charge. If a student does not pass on the third attempt, a student will have to re-register for the course at the full price of the course.

How soon can I take the exams after enrolling in the course?

Students may register to take the school exam as early as one week after registering for a course.  Please contact the school at least 48 hours in advance to schedule an exam.
